Alisha Parveen Khan was born on 3 July 2001 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Her father is M A Subhan and her mother Reena Begum. The family moved from Kolkata to Mumbai when she was still young — the kind of move that either pushes you toward the film industry or pulls you away from it. For Alisha, it pushed.
She did her schooling at Auxilium Convent High School in Mumbai and then completed a Bachelor of Commerce from MMK College of Commerce and Economics. Commerce degree, acting career — not the most obvious combination, but she had been doing theatre and modelling well before graduation anyway.
In 2016, she competed in the Little Miss India pageant and won the title of Little Miss Monalisa. That kind of competition circuit is usually where young aspiring actors from outside the film industry start building visibility.
Her film debut came at age 13 — Meghna Gulzar’s Talvar (2015), based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case. She played Shruti Tandon in the film. Talvar was a serious, critically acclaimed project with Irrfan Khan at the centre. Getting cast in that, at 13, as a first film — that’s not a small thing.
The same year she appeared on television in the serial Mastermind, which gave her first TV experience.
The bigger TV break came later. She was part of Gathbandhan (2019) on Colors TV and then Qurbaan Hua (2020) and Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho (2021). She also starred as Dimple Chaddha in the Amazon MiniTV web series School Friends (2023).
Then came Anupamaa on Star Plus — one of Indian TV’s highest-rated shows. After a 15-year time leap in the story, the show shifted focus to Anupamaa’s adopted daughter Aadhya, grown up and renamed Raahi. Alisha played Raahi from mid-2024 onwards, opposite Shivam Khajuria. It was her first main lead role in a prime-time show and her biggest visibility yet.
Then, in December 2024, she was replaced overnight — without prior notice, by her own account. She went public with her frustration in an interview with ETimes, saying she wasn’t informed before it happened. Reports from the production side suggested the decision was about performance in emotional scenes. Adrija Roy took over the role. Whatever the full story, getting replaced on one of India’s biggest shows without warning — that’s a rough experience.
She also appeared in the 2025 Punjabi film Tu Juliet Jatt Di, which expanded her beyond Hindi TV.
This is the one thing people search most about her right now. She joined Anupamaa in 2024 to play Raahi — Rupali Ganguly’s adopted daughter in the post-leap storyline. The role had a proper arc, a love interest, and prime-time screen time on Star Plus. She shot her last episode in December 2024 without knowing it would be her last.
When she spoke to ETimes after the replacement was announced, she didn’t hide her feelings. She said she wasn’t given any notice, found out with everyone else, and called it unfair. The makers’ side said it was a creative decision based on performance. Neither statement fully explains what happened, and Anupamaa has a long history of cast exits that always come with some version of this back-and-forth.
Adrija Roy, who previously played Imlie on the show Imlie, replaced her.
Alisha is active on Instagram and has built a following of over 400,000. She posts regularly — a mix of work updates, personal moments, and the occasional candid. She has also appeared in the music video Maa by Zikrr (2018) and has done anchoring work on various TV shows alongside her acting.
Alisha is unmarried as of 2026. She has not spoken about being in a relationship publicly. Her personal life is quite private beyond what she shares on social media.
Her estimated net worth is around $500,000 to $625,000 — roughly ₹4 to 5 Crore. This comes from TV work, films, web series, modelling, brand endorsements, and social media. She’s 24, has a decade of work behind her, and the Anupamaa visibility alone pushed her profile significantly even if the exit was messy.
