Khushi Kapoor Biography

Khushi Kapoor was born on 5 November 2000 in Mumbai. Her father Boney Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s well-known producers, and her mother was Sridevi — one of the most celebrated actresses in Indian cinema history. Sridevi passed away in February 2018, when Khushi was 17. That loss, at that age, in such a public family, is something she has spoken about in interviews more than once.

She has an elder sister Janhvi Kapoor, who is also an actress. From her father’s first marriage, she has two half-siblings — actor Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. The Kapoor family connection runs deep in Bollywood — her uncles are Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, her cousins include Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Khushi Kapoor Biography: Education

Khushi did her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and École Mondiale World School in Mumbai. In 2019, she moved to New York and completed an acting course at the New York Film Academy. Coming back trained and serious about the craft was clearly a deliberate choice — she wasn’t going to just walk in on family name alone.

Khushi Kapoor Biography: Movies and Career

Her debut came in December 2023 with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, released on Netflix. She played Betty Cooper in this adaptation of the Archie Comics, set in 1960s India. The film also introduced Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda alongside her. Reviews for the film were mixed, but Khushi’s performance was generally noted as charming and natural for a debut.

In 2025, she appeared in Loveyapa opposite Junaid Khan — a remake of the Tamil film Love Today. Then came Nadaaniyan, a Dharma Productions romantic comedy on Netflix opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan. Both films got a mixed reception critically, but Khushi’s screen presence kept pulling attention.

She is also a brand ambassador for The Face Shop (Korean skincare brand) and Myntra, and has featured on the covers of Cosmopolitan India, Grazia, and Elle.

In 2024, GQ India included her in their list of “35 Most Influential Young Indians” — which says something about how her presence is being read beyond just films.

Khushi Kapoor’s Mom: Sridevi

Sridevi needs no introduction in Indian cinema. She was the first female superstar of Bollywood — a title people use casually now but one she genuinely earned. She passed away on 24 February 2018 in Dubai. Khushi and Janhvi have both spoken about how much she is missed, and every year around her birthday or death anniversary, both sisters pay tribute on social media. In December 2025, Khushi and Janhvi shared a Christmas tribute to Sridevi that went viral.

Khushi Kapoor’s Sister: Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with Dhadak. She has since done films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Roohi, Good Luck Jerry, Mili, and Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. Khushi and Janhvi are extremely close — the kind of bond that comes from going through something hard together at a young age. They are seen together constantly, and Khushi has often said Janhvi is her biggest support.

Boyfriend

Khushi has been rumoured to be dating Vedang Raina — her co-star from The Archies. The two have been spotted together multiple times, and Khushi was seen wearing a bracelet with Vedang’s initials on a Maldives trip in 2024. Neither officially confirmed the relationship. In January 2026, multiple entertainment portals reported a rumoured breakup, though again — nothing confirmed from either side.

Net Worth

Khushi’s estimated net worth is around ₹8 to 12 Crore as of 2026. This includes her film fees, brand endorsements, and social media earnings. Her brand deals reportedly bring in around ₹50 Lakh per deal, and sponsored posts on Instagram earn ₹10 to 20 Lakh each. Still early days in her career — the number is only going one direction from here.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Khushi Kapoor

  • She was born into arguably the most famous film family in India, but still chose to formally train at New York Film Academy before stepping in front of a camera professionally.
  • Khushi has been open about getting a nose job and eyebrow nanoblading. She talked about how negative comments about her appearance during her childhood affected her, and how she eventually chose to do what made her feel comfortable — on her own terms.
  • She made her Bollywood debut on Netflix, not in theatres — which was a deliberate industry shift, not a compromise.
  • Her debut film The Archies co-starred Vedang Raina, Suhana Khan (Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter), and Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson) — three industry kids debuting in one film.
  • Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor are close enough that they vacation together, show up at each other’s events, and publicly speak about their mother Sridevi together. That kind of public sibling bond is not that common in Bollywood.
  • She is a huge fan of Korean culture and has collaborated with Korean skincare brand The Face Shop as their brand ambassador in India.
  • Despite all the family legacy, she has never done a film produced by her father Boney Kapoor so far — all her projects have been through other banners.
